VJ Czar World Announcement: Some Features Will Be Temporarily Suspended

I hate to do this but, I guess this seems to be the right way...

Starting today up to an uncertain time, I won't be making any usual updates on some (actually half) of the features of VJ Czar World. These features are the following:

*Sigh*... Projects, assignments and appointments have been so many lately, and I don't think it's going to end sooner or later. Indeed, being a third year college student deprives you to do things you really like and love. I've got no choice but to change my long-established routine into something that focuses more on my studies. Duh, what a step to take to have a much "brighter future".

BTW, I might update those features if ever I have free time. Yet, having free time is way too impossible this time. Hehe.

Blog List: The Newly-Born Blogger Page Element

Yesterday, June 5, 2008, Blogger announces the release of "Blog List", the newest page element for Layouts blogs. Blog List is similar to the Links List page element in such a way that it is also made so you can put links to particular blogs and websites. However, the former is more interactive and improved because it uses blogs' RSS and Atom feeds to show update times, post titles and snippets.

Here are the summary provided by Blogger Buzz about the Blog List:

• Link to blogs, web pages, and feeds from your blog’s sidebar, with an optional favicon
  
• For pages with RSS and Atom feeds, Blog List can show last updated time, post title, and a snippet of the latest post
  
• Sort links alphabetically or by last update time
• Show all links, or hide some behind a “show all” link
  
• Import subscriptions from Google Reader
  
• Blog List links are visible to search engine crawlers, so your blog’s PageRank and reputation flow to those you link to

Disappointing Note: Earlier today, I tried using the Blog List page element to improve my blog's "Must Reads" section. The results were pretty impressive. BUT, I got disappointed and decided to remove it shortly when I encountered these annoying things:

• It doesn't show the REAL icons of certain Blogger blogs. Instead, it displays the typical one (comparable to the image on the right).
• Some URLs of blogs cannot be added. - This one really annoyed me!

Improved Feature: YouTube Videos of the Week

Hey, I just want to announce that one of the features of VJ Czar World entitled “YouTube Video of the Week” has just been altered to “YouTube Videos of the Week” (now, that’s with an “s”). The blog posts for this feature will still be published every Friday of the Week.

What’s the difference between the new feature and the old one?

Obviously, the major difference is that “YouTube Videos of the Week” will be featuring not just one, but more than one YouTube videos. The videos that are to be featured are based on a particular topic. For example, if the topic is all about me, then I’ll be embedding videos that star me and not Tom Cruise, whom is my not-so-handsome twin (haha!).

Every week, a new topic will be introduced. The maximum number of videos to be featured for a certain topic is three. How’s that? Brilliant, ain’t it?

The first set of “YouTube Videos of the Week” shall be posted immediately this week. So, check it out!

Attention!!! VJ Czar World's On a Scheme

Hello, this is VJ Czar, the owner of this blog. I just want to announce to all of you that starting tomorrow, May 4, 2008, Sunday, my blog will be on a scheme. What I mean is that, I’ve made a schedule for the blog posts which I’m going to create during a certain period of time. You see, I’ve got a number of interests—music, celebrities, sciences, environment, videos, etc. It’s pretty normal for a human like me to love more than one aspect of life. Because of such things, I’m so bothered if I’ll be able to share these interests all at the same time. Apparently, I cannot. I’m only human, you know. Yet, I really can’t stand the thing of not imparting all of them to you.

So, in order to fix this problem, a scheme must be followed at once. And here it is!

Weekly Scheme

• Japanese Word of the Week- I shall introduce a certain Japanese word and teach you how it is written in both Kana and Kanji characters. I shall also give you three sentences in which, that word is used.
• Song of the Week- I shall be posting a song that had really touched my heart, affected my life or made me get out of my seat and go crazy. You can sing it for I’ll be including the song’s lyrics. The background of the song (eg. composers, singer, awards) will also be mentioned.
• Natural Wonder of the Week- I shall be picking up a natural wonder of the world and introduce it to you. I shall mention its location, features, etc.
• Funny Celeb Snaps of the Week- Recently, there has been a great number of paparazzi swarming on almost all of the hottest icons in the international showbiz and I admit; they really got snaps worth laughing for. You’ll see some of them here. Three funny snaps per week!
  
• Organism of the Week- Here, I shall be posting a picture/s of a certain organism with its facts. The organism may be an animal, plant, fungus, protist or moneran.
• YouTube Video of the Week- I once had a blog about YouTube videos. However, I shut it down because it seemed like I couldn’t handle two blogs at the same time. My interest about it still hasn’t faded. So, here it is!
• Did You Know?- Find out the things possessing such a superlative attribute.

In spite the existence of this scheme, I’ll still be making posts that don’t cover the following interests. I may also create more posts on just a single interest. How’s that?

Well, I guess it only matters whether I’m in the mood or not. :)
